Frida Kahlo (1907-1954)
one of the most influential Mexican painters of the middle twentieth century.
Painted:1946
[Tree of Hope]

Oil on Masonite
22 x 16 in Isadore Ducasse Fine Arts, New York

The painting we see in the Tree Of Hope is actually 2 Fridas.
One is in bright Tehuana costume while the other
is guards over the injured Fridas, who is seen on the hospital gurney, with surgical cuts on her back. Her health worsen at 1951and many health problems came to her. She was suffering more than ever in her life, but still she live her life to her fullest despite her sufferings, but eventually she died on
July 13, 1954.
Her paintings reflected her depression, often including skeletons and other grim images, including this
'Tree Of Hope'
