Beijing Olympics.

The emblem draws on various elements of Chinese culture, depicting a traditional red Chinese seal above the words "Beijing 2008" and the Olympic rings. The seal is inscribed with a stylised calligraphic rendition of the Chinese character ? (jing, meaning 'capital', from the name of the host city) in the form of a dancing figure.[1] The curves are also claimed to suggest the body of a wriggling Chinese dragon. The open arms of the figure symbolise the invitation of China to the world to share in its culture. The figure also resembles that of a runner crossing the finish line. Red, the dominant colour of the emblem, is an important colour in Chinese society, often signifying good luck. The logo was created by Guo Chunning,[2] the vice-president of the "Beijing Armstrong International Corporate Identity" (AICI). There was only one seal among the 1,985 entries contributed by designers from China and overseas. Other entries included dozens of Great Walls, pandas and dragons.[3] Other designers include Chang Wu

London Olympics.

There have been two London 2012 logos: one for the bidding process created by Kino Design and a second as the brand for the Games themselves. The latter, designed by Wolff Olins, was unveiled on 4 June 2007 and cost £400,000.[33] This new logo is a representation of the number 2012, with the Olympic Rings embedded within the zero. This will be the first time that the same essential logo is to be used for both the Olympic and Paralympic games.[35]The standard colours are green, magenta, orange and blue; however the logo has incorporated a variety of colours, including the Union Flag to promote the handover ceremony.[36] The flexibility of the logo has also enabled sponsors to incorporate their corporate colours into a personalised version, such as Lloyds TSB,[37] British Airways,[38] and Adidas.[39]

Singapore Olympics.

The logo, tagged as the Spirit of Youth, celebrates Singapore in an adventurous, open and fun way, evoking the Singapore sense of confidence and progress. The red flame represents the passion to learn and the power of positive thinking. A purple star symbolises excellence and the pride of representing one's nation. A crescent reflects dynamic youth, full of promise. The active appearance of the 'Singapore 2010' wordmark comprises individual and unique characters that signify harmony among the diverse participants.'The logo is an important symbol of the inaugural Youth Olympic Games. It embodies the vision of Singapore 2010 - Inspiring Youth, Sporting Singapore, and expresses the significance and legacy that we hope Singapore 2010 will have on the lives of Singaporeans and youths around the world before, during and after the Games.'
